Member badges are white in color, Flag and Line Officers are gold, and Past Commodore badges are silver.

Yacht Club Formal

For events requiring Yacht Club Formal the dress code is: For men, a blue blazer with a GHYC Patch/Bullion, white shirt, gray slacks, dark tie, and black shoes; For women, cocktail attire or long dress. This dress code is worn at the January Changing of Watch and is appropriate for the December Commodores Ball. Dress for the Fleet Review in March is summer whites, including white shoes for men and women. Flag Officers and Past Commodores are asked to wear their hats.

Guest Policy

  • Single members can bring one guest to any function, without limitation.
  • A member couple may bring a guest or guests to a club event. However, any non-member guest may not be a guest more than once per calendar month.
  • Boat owners providing their own boat for any function can have any guests they choose. However, there are limitations on the number of guests permitted at some Lunch Bunch locations where seating may be limited. Members will always be accommodated before guests are considered. At an event where space is expected to be limited, the cruise leader or event leader will generate a guest list and a cut-off time for members to sign up. Guests will be considered at the discretion of the cruise leader based on available space. The following priorities will be used to establish the precedence of adding guests.

1) Family of members

2) Visiting house guests of members

3) Potential new members

  • Members must be present at all times their guests are in attendance of a yacht club event.
